Class description and objectives
The Science and Biology course is based on the National Science Education Standards were produced by the National Research Council and the academic goals of our school.
This class seeks, among other things, high expectations and support for all students. The students will work towards their own preparation to go on to more advanced science courses in school years to come.

Classroom Expectations:
The following factors are important to being successful in school.

Enthusiasm and good attitude towards learning
School and Classroom Rules:
Raise your hand to ask questions or participate in class.
No wandering, students are to stay at their desks.
Respect school authorities and classmates.
Bring your materials to class.
No side conversations. Be attentive in class.
No electronics will be allowed.
Notebook and Homework Policies:
A notebook is required for class notes and homework. Every time you come to class you are to label the top of your notebook page with the date and subject.
Homework should include subject, date and textbook page.
When required, show your work for your homework or test problems. Remember, no work, no credit.
If you lose your notebook, replace it as soon as possible.
Homework done on separate sheets of paper or in a different notebook will not be accepted.
Homework will be assigned regularly, almost on a daily basis.
Homework will be checked at the beginning of the class period.
According to school’s policy, any assignment not turned in because of excused absences should be made up and presented to the teacher. You are responsible to turn in your work to me when absent.
On-Task Behavior:
On-task behavior in class will include completing assigned class work and bringing in required materials.
On-task behavior includes behaving appropriately during class and being punctual.
On-task behavior will be recorded on a daily basis.
Not complying will result in an unprepared entry in the discipline chart.
Test and Quiz Policies:
Formal assessments will be applied on a weekly basis. Unannounced pop quizzes will also be given to students, with the purpose of checking progress and motivating daily practice.
During examinations, no talking and exchange of materials will be allowed. This is considered cheating.
Honesty is expected when taking tests. Cheating will be punished according to school policies.
Not complying will result in an unprepared entry in the discipline chart.
Make up assessments will be given on a specific day and time. Failing to comply will result in a 0%. It’s the student’s responsibility to request the day and time of the test.
Projects:
Projects will be assigned each quarter.

Descripción de la Clase y Objetivos
La ciencia y el campo de la biología se basa en las Normas Nacionales de Educación Científica fueron elaboradas por el Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas y las metas académicas de la escuela.
Esta clase busca, entre otras cosas, las altas expectativas y apoyo para todos los estudiantes. Los estudiantes van a trabajar para su propia preparación para pasar a los cursos de ciencias más avanzadas en los años escolares venideros.

Expectativas de la Clase:
Los siguientes factores son importantes para tener éxito en la escuela.

Reglas de Clase y la Escuela:
1. Levantar la mano para hacer preguntas o participar en clase.
2. No errantes, los estudiantes deben permanecer en sus escritorios.
3. Respetar las autoridades escolares y compañeros de clase.
4. Traiga sus materiales a clase.
5. No hay conversaciones paralelas. Estar atento en clase.
6. No se permitirá la electrónica.
Normativa de los Cuadernos y Tareas:
• Un cuaderno es necesario para los apuntes de clase y las tareas. Cada vez que vienen a clase, anotarán en la parte superior de su página la fecha y el tema.
• Las tareas deben incluir el tema, fecha y página de libro de texto.
• Cuando sea necesario, mostrar el desarrollo de los problemas en tareas y pruebas. Recuerde, si no hay desarrollo, no hay crédito.
• Si pierde su cuaderno, sustituirlo tan pronto como sea posible.
• Las tarea elaboradas en hojas separadas o en un cuaderno diferente, no serán aceptadas.
• Las tareas serán asignadas regularmente, casi a diario.
• La tarea se revisará al comienzo de la clase.
• De acuerdo a la política de la escuela, una asignación no entregada por ausencias excusadas, deberán presentarse al profesor en un periodo no mayor a dos días. Usted es responsable de entregar su trabajo cuando esté ausente.
Del Comportamiento:
• En el comportamiento en clase se incluyen: completar el trabajo asignado y traer los materiales requeridos.
• El comportamiento incluye comportarse adecuadamente durante la clase y ser puntual.
• La conducta se registrarán en una base diaria.
• No cumplir resultará en una sanción en el tablero de write-ups.
Pruebe y Políticas del Curso:
• Las evaluaciones formales se aplicarán cada dos semanas. Pruebas sorpresas, también, serán aplicada a los estudiantes, con el fin de comprobar los avances y motivar la práctica diaria.
• Durante los exámenes, hablar y el intercambio de materiales no serán permitidos. Esto es considerado hacer trampa.
• Se espera honestidad al tomar las pruebas. Hacer trampa será sancionado de acuerdo con las políticas escolares.
• No cumplir resultará en una sanción en el tablero de write-ups.
• Asignaciones y pruebas de reposición se llevaran en el día y hora especificados. No cumplir con ello resultará en un 0%. Es responsabilidad del estudiante solicitar su prueba.
Proyectos:
• Los proyectos serán asignados cada parcial.
